------- EVENT REGISTRATION TIME: The registration on Saturday will start at: 8 am and close at 9.30 am. First round start is expected at 10 am. Lunch break is scheduled after 4 swiss round.
-------DETAILED STRUCTURE: The Samurai Stage begins in the morning of Day 1 and includes all enrolled participants, who will compete in four Swiss rounds. Players who earn 18 or more tournament points (Win = 10, Modified Win = 6, Loss = 1, Modified Loss = 0) advance to the Magistrate Stage in the afternoon of Day 1. These competitors play three more Swiss rounds, and those who have earned at least 53 tournament points advance to Day 2’s Daimyō Stage.
Clan challengers also advance to the Daimyō Stage on Day 2. The top-ranked remaining player from each clan on Day 1 advances to the Day 2 as their clan’s challenger. The first single-elimination round of the Daiymō Stage will award byes to top-seeded players, and only pair enough lower-seeded players so that the subsequent round reaches an appropriate number of players for an elimination bracket (4, 8, 16, or 32). Typical single-elimination rounds will then be played until the champion is found.
A Proving Grounds side tournament is scheduled to begin at the same time as Day 2 of the main tournament. This is an additional opportunity for players who did not advance to the Daimyō Stage to earn their place in the Winter Court World Championship over six rounds of play. Players who did advance, but are eliminated from the Daiymō Stage before the quarterfinals can charge into the Proving Grounds with byes for the rounds they missed for one last chance.
Skirmish side tournaments are available at various times during a Kotei or Grand Kotei event, and are each three Swiss rounds. Skirmish side tournaments that are offered alongside the Magistrate Stage of the main tournament will offer an additional prize to participants.
