In south eastern Rokugan lies a small coastal strip of land known as the Shorekugam Peninsula, on which nestles its main fishing / trading town Shorekugam. Until recently the inhabitants of this land lived a peaceful and simple existence, that is until the discovery of a rare and precious spice growing in the remote salt marshes to the east of the main settlements, Exceatium. The Emperor was pleased and suggested that the area would do well to have one of the seven Great Clans as protector. The Clan families, keen to please the Emperor, soon fell into near open warfare to take control of the land and to earn the title of Shorekugam Hatamoto.

Eventually the Crane Clan won Imperial Favour to control the Shorekugam Peninsula but no sooner had the Crane Hatamoto moved his extensive family to the region then he was packing up again to head to other lands and challenges (a mysterious place known as Dominaria). Rumours of Scorpion lies whispered at the dead of night abound, but the reality is that the region is now in turmoil and the Kami-Goblins are starting to cause havoc.

The Emperor kindly invites the brave clan champions to a one-off 'Restoration of Shorekugam Honour' tournament to find a new Hatamoto......and where better to host it than the mysterious island of Han, a celebrated Brutish Legionnaire of some repute ?
