In the Emerald Empire cooperation would seem to be a good thing, but cooperation depends on trust, and in the strange new lands of Sanctuary, trust is rarely to be had. Now the Dragon beseech the Phoenix for aid, but in so doing have proven themselves reckless, unreliable, and unworthy of the secrets they ask. The Phoenix in their response deliver insult to the Dragon, an insult which cannot be allowed to stand. In reply to this insult, Mirumoto Rei has challenged Shiba Yohana to a duel. Let steel decide not just this point of honor but what manner of aid, if any, the Dragon shall receive…

Now you are all invited to determine whose blade shall be victorious and the manner of the victory.

When you sign up, please choose one of the following options: Lend your steel to the Dragon (choose to state "Dragon" as your team name), or to the Phoenix (choose to state "Phoenix" in your team name), or leave it blank. Or just reach out to Rob and he will sort you out if anything goes awry!

Technical information: 5-day rounds of Swiss. Amount of rounds depending on players: up to 16, 4 rounds, up to 32, 5 rounds, 33 or above 6 rounds.

Top cut: top 2 or 4 of each team (2 if 16 players or less, 4 if 32 players or less) (in the case of going above 60 players, top 8 of each team will qualify) will go through to best of 3 knockout rounds (Also with 5-day playtime limits)

Special deckbuilding restrictions: Team Dragon may not play Phoenix splash. Team Phoenix may not play Dragon splash.

If you have not chosen a team, you can do so as the tournament goes on, but you will be counted as the lowest qualified player of your bracket if you do so. (As in, you are possibly on a 5-1 record, but you are counted as the last of the 5-1s for qualifying reasons if you choose your allegiance late. Sincerity is a virtue of Bushido after all.)

The winners chosen team will determine who won the duel, but there is more! The winner may personally choose a short descriptor to determine the manner of victory. Example descriptors include: Gracious, Overwhelming, Skillful, Bloodthirsty, Dishonest, Lucky, By forfeit or your own description! (subject to story team approval)

So, raise the banners of who you support. Fight for the glory of them and their ancestors."
